I’m Lauren. 

I’m a writer, actor, part time-esthetician, and lover of all things spooky. 

I know–all those things don’t exactly sound like they go together, but let me start at the beginning. 

As a kid, I was always writing something. Scooby Doo fanfiction, plays with my cousins staged in my grandmother’s basement, or poems about the crushes I had–anything was fair game. When I got to highschool, I was writing, directing, and acting in skits that I would film and edit for our schools daily announcement show. 

You might say I got the entertainment bug at that point. I attended Colorado Film School in Aurora, Colorado, and my life changed forever. At CFS, I learned more about acting, writing, how to set up a camera, how to light a scene, and how to dissect a film. I grew a lot, met a ton of amazing people, and got my degree in Acting and Directing. (AAS)

After film school–during the good old quarter life crisis–I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. My world came to a stop. 

I moved back in with my dad. I wasn’t sure what to do. I knew that I wanted to pursue something in the entertainment industry, and that I wanted to maybe move to Los Angeles, but I had health concerns now. I took steps to improve my health, and as it did, I decided a good career move would be to go to Esthetician school. 

I came to LA in August of 2022, and have been working as an Esthetician here since. While it’s been a blessing during the slow times, (hi writer/actor strike of ‘23’!) it's been a good time to reflect on what I really want. 

With being an esthetician, I realize that most of the job is listening. You ask your client what they want to change about their skin, and then you provide that need. It’s a lot of communication skills: listening to their concerns, doing a skin analysis to confirm, and then coming up with a plan to address and attack. 

So, here’s where my story gets good.

While scrolling mindlessly one day, I saw an ad for copywriting courses. Copywriting? What is that? Suddenly it was in my atmosphere. 

What’s a good way to combine my love of entertaining people, writing, and persuasiveness? And with my background in customer service, bring it to clients and people who are savvy buyers? Gosh, what a marriage! 

And that’s what brings us to the now. I’m a copywriter who is continually trying to push my skills to get better and better to help people and businesses reach their full potential. 

Oh, I didn’t get to all the spooky lover! I enjoy a good ghost hunting video, funny horror films, and just a good old ghost story. In my downtime, I also love to workout, listen to podcasts, and sometimes I crochet something that resembles a scarf. Sometimes.
